Hi all,
I have installed rt2x00 off the most recent git repository and I am getting an error from wpa_supplicant while trying to connect to my network
I have attached the output of wpa_supplicant
from what I can tell the problem is around

I used to have the driver working fine on a ~1 year old version of the CVS
and I have tried the git repository ~monthy since september with the same problem. On older git versions it wasnt able to connect with encryption off, I am giving it a shot again now with this new version

does anyone know what this error means or how to fix it?

is it a rt73 wlan adapter?

murra1a

13-11-2007 18:16:51

I dont think so
I have loaded the rt73 module and the adapter wasn't recognized in dmesg or iwconfig
It is Rev-B hardware which is supposed to be the rt2500 hardware

The above mentioned errors are not important. Basically the last line in your log indicates that wpa_supplicant has started scanning, so it should be searching for networks it can connect to.

murra1a

that set of output continously repeats itself and iwconfig never shows the encryption key
dhcpd never gets an IP and pinging the gateway gives nothing either
if the wpa_supplicant logs give no errors what else may be the problem and where can I look to track it down?

Try using the "iwconfig" commands manually, does "iwlist wlan0 scan" report anything? Have you looked at "dmesg"?

I dont see anything unusual but im no expert
iwconfig gives nothing interesting
It sees my AP, and can get the MAC address but
always displays 'Encryption keyoff'
iwlist shows my AP with decent signal
[code20zul7nj]neutron live # iwlist wlan1 scan

My router logs show no attempt to ping or dhcp request. The box with the wireless card shows no signs of getting through in any of its logs

I have tried to get the adapter to connect to the AP without encryption and had no success. using iwconfig and dhcp or by manually assigning an ip.
nowhere was there any logs to indicate a problem

Will it matter that I am trying to make the wireless adapter connect to the same subnet as eth0?
