Hi,

I'm trying vanilla 2.6.24 driver. Hardware D-Link DWA-110 (vendorproduct 07d13c07 (I've added these to rt73usb.c).

# modinfo rt2x00usb
filename /lib/modules/2.6.24.2/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/rt2x00/rt2x00usb.ko
license GPL
description rt2x00 library
version 2.0.10
author http//rt2x00.serialmonkey.com
srcversion 65E88CE82986F52417FCE21
depends usbcore,rt2x00lib,mac80211
vermagic 2.6.24.2 SMP mod_unload PENTIUM4

phy0 -> rt2x00_set_chip Info - Chipset detected - rt 1300, rf 0002, rev 0002573a.

Card seems to work, but driver says

phy2 -> rt2x00mac_add_interface Error - rt2x00 does not support Adhoc or Master mode

Is it a software or hardware limitation? Thanks.

Sorry to follow myself up, but I've checked CVS version — it seems to support AP mode.
It's a pity I can't compile it with 2.6.24.2 — looks like 80211 is completely different there…

Master mode has been enabled in rt2x00.git and wireless-2.6.git but not in the 2.6.24 kernel, nor will it be enabled in the 2.6.25 kernel.

Additionally you need additional patches to enable master mode in mac80211. use the search button on this forum to find the topics regarding these patches.
