zeekoe explains it for ubuntu int the first page
just replace "cg clone" with "git clone" and when using "make-kpkpg", prefixing it with "fakeroot" instead of "sudo" would be a better option imho.
basically, using debian derivatives allows you to create a kernel package (.deb) which will be much easier to install and remove that the standard procedure, so if you screwed up setting up your kernel options, you just remove your package via apt, synaptic adept or whatever package manager you wish.
thx i success compil it and boot on the new kernel. Just fakeroot don't worked (permission denied...) but sudo is ok.
Now my goal is to set my linksys wusb54gc in master mode but still
[code3d95qp26] sudo iwconfig wlan0 mode master
Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :

Is it the new generation module loaded?
Im am also having the same problem!
Could someone help us?
First of all, for change mode interface must be down
[coderznx1eln]# ifconfig wlan0 down
# iwconfig wlan0 mode <new mode>
# ifconfig wlan0 up[/coderznx1eln]
In order to use master mode you need latest rt2x00 (from git) + latest hostapd + hostapd patches from Johannes Berg and there is no warranty of success... forget the master mode for now...
[codesq3s5o04]iwconfig wlan0 mode master[/codesq3s5o04]
will not work, you can only enable it through the 'iw' tool by Johannes Berg and Hostapd.
