Just thought IŽd post some experiences with the rt2x00 driver if it should be of any intrest
to anyone. Not really a bug report.
I have an fujitsu-siemens laptop with
RaLink RT2500 802.11g Cardbus/mini-PCI (rev 01)
Tested with 4 kernel versions. Using wpa-psk trough network-manager.
2.6.24-18 (ubuntu) acpi=off No connection but scans ap
2.6.24-18 (ubuntu) Max 1Mb connection
2.6.25-rc8 (vanilla) acpi=off Connects (up to 54Mb)
2.6.25-rc8 (vanilla) Connects (up tp 54Mb)
220.127.116.11 (vanilla) acpi=off Not connecting at all
18.104.22.168 (vanilla) Max 1Mb connection
2.6.26-rc5 (vanilla) acpi=off No connection at all
2.6.26-rc5 (vanilla) Scans ap, connects after couple of tries at max 1Mb
Best results are with 2.6.25-rc8, not perfect but usable. It will connect at 1-52Mb and
stays connected at that speed (wont change even if signal level changes)
Using 2.6.25-rc8 with acpi=off now, so wlan and fans work.
Does vanilla 22.214.171.124 rt2500pci work for you?
Mine doesn't even scan APs
Tried two more vanilla kernels
126.96.36.199 and 2.6.27-rc4
both do scan ap but only connect at max. 1Mb/s.
Haven't tried vanilla 188.8.131.52.
