I have two same cards on client, also on AP

[code7gxp5drd]# lspci | grep Ra
01:05.0 Network controller: RaLink RT2561/RT61 rev B 802.11g[/code7gxp5drd]

I trying to scan networks on client (gentoo)

[code7gxp5drd]# iwlist wlan0 scan
wlan0 No scan results[/code7gxp5drd]

MS Windows found my AP, but cannot connect. AP works with 2.6.26.1 kernel with patch from [url7gxp5drd]http://johannes.sipsolutions.net/patches/kernel/all/LATEST/[/url7gxp5drd], hostapd.git and latest libnl. I used this instruction for my AP - [url7gxp5drd]http://gentoo-wiki.com/Wireless/libnl_Access_Point[/url7gxp5drd]. Client works with 2.6.25. I attach hostapd's config later..

Tell me, please, what's going on?

I recommend searching this forum, and looking for other topics which have tried to get master mode working. There are several examples of people who managed to get it working, and they might be able to assist you.

I forced to work my rt61-client on MS windows. It connecting and works fine! I'm shocked, Vista and XP can connect to my AP.

But gentoo linux CANNOT FIND AP! I emerged kismet, edit config and run this. Kismet work without errors, but it CANNOT FIND AP! I install RutIL, but it CANNOT FIND AP too! (

Guys, I very-very need to force work my rt61-card on Gentoo linux.. Why do u keep silence?

Have you actually followed my advice on *asking* people who have managed to get it working for advice?
And not only look at what they had written in their posts?

Have a three penpals, who have same card and it works.. We exchanged configs and got no result. I really don't know, what's wrong with my card..

I tried to boot from gentoo livecd and my card found AP! 2.6.24.7 is on live cd.

And attach message with debugging on in my 2.6.25 desktop kernel

Well if you are so desperate to get it immediately working, why don't you just use the 2.6.24 or 2.6.25 kernel on your client then?
Gentoo hasn't even stabilitized 2.6.26 gentoo-sources yet, and if the older kernels work as you stated, then why not actually use them?

I have 2.6.24.7 kernel and I tryed this way on my desktop.. no results too..

Ok, but you reported 2.6.25 to be working on your client, so use that then.

At the moment I am busy with other rt2x00 things, so I can't debug this issue which means that a solution for the latest kernel might come late.

In any case, you should use the rt2x00_regdump.sh script from http//kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/ivd/tools/ and create debugfs dumps for the working and non-working kernel, and I'll look into the issue later.
