Hi guys!

Is rt2500pci found in vanilla supposed to work?
In my case it fails to see any network
[code1m6mw8mq]/sbin/iwlist wlan0 scan
wlan0 No scan results[/code1m6mw8mq]

Booting to windows displays several APs with very strong signal
(one of them is 3 meters from my laptop)

My config is
[code1m6mw8mq]/usr/sbin/lspci |grep Netw
01:04.0 Network controller: RaLink RT2500 802.11g Cardbus/mini-PCI (rev 01)[/code1m6mw8mq]

Also, how do I enable rt2x00 debug in vanilla kernel?
I've periodically tried to use rt2x00 during the last two years, but still no luck.
But still it's a good thing that it stopped to hang my laptop on S3 suspend )

I don't think 2.6.26 contains the required patch yet to make rt2500pci work, I have send it upstream but haven't tracked the merge yet. (latest rt2x00.git and wireless-testing should have a functioning rt2500pci).

As far as enabling debug goes, just select the CONFIG_RT2X00_DEBUG option in the menuconfig.

I have

rt2500pci Unknown parameter `debug'

Ah, you are trying to use the module parameter, that doesn't exist in rt2x00.
For rt2x00 there are 2 modes
* debug compiled in, enabled during runtime
* debug compiled out, disabled during runtime

I don't get any debug in /var/log/messages
Will wait for 2.6.27 wink

Hello, I don't know which patches debian packagers applied to vanilla 2.6.26, but I report [b3fd5yw2z]out of the box success[/b3fd5yw2z] on debian Lenny with rt2500pci included in debian package
linux-image-2.6.26-1-686. (version 2.6.26-3)
iwconfig claims a 54Mbps Bit Rate, I did not test further but transfer speeds seem higher than with debian 2.6.25 and comparable with legacy rt2500.
My wlan is 802.11g with WEP enabled.

EDIT I may have forgotten that I had put a speed setup option in my /etc/network/interfaces file. That might explain the claimed speed...
