Hi there,

I'm running openSuSE 11.1 with the kernel provided by the distro - it is 2.6.27.7-9-pae. I configured the wlan via Yast, but on every third boot, the stick fails to connect to the ap. The system uses the module rt73usb which sould be the right one(?). The stick is a

It should be supported by the kernel drivers. It seems that while failing, the system tries to connect to the ap, but I don't get why this fails sometimes. The log repeats lines as these

Jan 29 231520 g2 kernel wlan0 authenticate with AP 00095bf841cd
Jan 29 231520 g2 kernel wlan0 deauthenticated
Jan 29 231520 g2 kernel wlan0 authenticate with AP 00095bf841cd
Jan 29 231521 g2 kernel wlan0 authenticated
Jan 29 231521 g2 kernel wlan0 associate with AP 00095bf841cd
Jan 29 231521 g2 kernel wlan0 deauthenticated

If any one can turn me into the right direction or tell me which information you need to get this thing solved?

To test to connection, I've subsequently done "/etc/init.d/network restart". One log shows a successfull connect, but the other contains several disconnects before the connection is established.

thanks

Hi there,

I forgot to mention that the device is running in managed mode with WPA encryption. The most annoying thing is that if the device has successfully established a connection, it works great - no disconnects etc.. But I don't see why some tries are not successfull at all. Two other stationa are using the WLAN without any problem.

Any guesses?
