FINALLY have a stable working rt2x00 driver on my hardware--i had still been using legacy drivers until using stock ubuntu karmic drivers. anyway, i'm using a usb dongle, and wanted to know if there was a way to wake the computer from a suspend-to-ram remotely. the mobo supports waking on usb input. didn't know if the driver supported it, and if so, how to enable it. if not, is there a way to prevent the driver from unloading; ie, suspend the computer, but keep the wireless active?

no that is not supported, when the device suspends the wireless will go off. wireless consumes a lot of power, so keeping that on would really drain your batteries.

Well, its a desktop, so that's less of a concern (though I'd still like to conserve power). Another issue I noticed is that upon awakening, connection speeds are severely decreased, and iwconfig shows 1 mb/s connection with the router. Symptoms resolve with rmmod and reload of the driver.
