Hi all,

I am trying to get my rt2500pci card to go into master mode. I've been reading through this posting ([url359rng9d]http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4963&start=45&hilit=master+mode+howto[/url359rng9d]) here which is very close to what I want to do and it seems to have been solved.

So I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 and trying to use as much vanilla packaged stuff as possible. I'm using the

Kernel 2.6.31-20 Ubuntu vanilla
libnl1 1.1-5
firmware Ubuntu 9.10 standard
hostapd 0.7.2 - compiled myself using the config file in this post [url359rng9d]http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p=30863#p30863[/url359rng9d]

I've tried a number of different hostapd.conf configurations but I can't seem to find one that works. Starting hostapd seems to work fine (ie doesn't crash or anything) but no clients can see the wireless network. The card will work in client mode. The output from running the hostapd follows, is there anything that would hint at where the problem is happening?

I thought I would try going back and compling the same version of hostapd that the original poster had success with (v 0.7.0). The output now is
