i experience a strange problem. My link starts up with 54 mbit and i have no problem saturating my DSL connection. After a while my connection speed drops to 2 mbit, but iwconfig still shows 54 mbit.

wlan0 IEEE 802.11bg ESSID"asdf"

Link Quality=52/70 Signal level=-58 dBm
Rx invalid nwid0 Rx invalid crypt0 Rx invalid frag0
Tx excessive retries186 Invalid misc17956 Missed beacon0

I see in my router interface that the connection dropped to 2 mbit. So it doesn't seem to be the problem i found while googling that the card itself drops to 1 mbit. Changing the bitrate doesn't help, but bringing the interface down and up again helps. I'm suspecting that it's probably caused by Tx excessive retries186 and Invalid misc17956. Especially Invalid misc grows rapidly when i'm transferring data.

I get the same behavior with later kernels.

So is my hardware ready for the trash can or do you see another possibility?
