I have had my WMP600N running hostapd 802.11n with rt2800pci in Ubuntu for the past year and a half. I'm really happy with it. 8)

My only situation is that I am in a big house, and their are some dead spots for wifi signals. Last week I bought a Linksys e4200 router, and flashed it with DD-WRT. I managed to set it up in repeater-bridge mode, so it is acting as a repeater for my WMP600N, and placed it downstairs to cover the dead spots.

However, I would like to enable WDS on the e4200 router and my hostapd rt2800pci server. Configuring it on the router is straight forward thanks to DD-WRT. But, I am hard pressed to find any documentation on configuring hostapd to use WDS, or if the rt2800pci driver supports it.

From what I have found, ( the instructions here [url14q0p9pk]http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Documentation/iw#Setting_up_a_WDS_peer[/url14q0p9pk] ) on my hostapd machine I have to issue
[code14q0p9pk]
iw phy phy0 interface add wds0 type wds
iw dev wds0 set peer <My e4200's MAC address>
[/code14q0p9pk]
Then, to my hostapd.conf file, I have to add
[code14q0p9pk]
wds_sta=1
[/code14q0p9pk]
On my e4200, I followed the directions here [url14q0p9pk]http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/WDS_Linked_router_network#Setup.2FConfiguration_for_Broadcom_Based_Devices[/url14q0p9pk] they seemed pretty straight forward, however when I restarted my network my e4200 was unable to contact my hostapd machine cry . Im almost certain that the problem is in the hostapd configuration, or possible the rt2800pci driver does not support WDS?

Has anyone attempted this, or know anything about it?
