I'm new here and have not meddled with kernel nor with wireless drivers. So I'm sorry for the possibility of this being a stupid question.
I have an 11.10 Ubuntu Server setup with a USB wireless dongle plugged in. I'm trying to turn this setup into a router but am facing difficulty in making the USB dongle go to Master mode. Searching around I found that there is a driver that I must install for it to work. However, some more research says that it should have been implemented in the kernel already.
The device seems to work plug-and-play as I can see it when I do ifconfig. I'm just wondering what I am missing in order to allow it to go to master mode.
