Hello
I have two systems, each with a rt2800 802.11n PCI card [18140601], but with different subsystem implementations.
The card that runs fine is this one
030c.0 Network controller [0280] Ralink corp. RT2800 802.11n PCI [18140601]
[b96j24quv]Subsystem Linksys Device [17370067][/b96j24quv]
Control I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV+ VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx-
Status Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=slow >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- INTx-
Latency 32 (500ns min, 1000ns max), Cache Line Size 64 bytes
Interrupt pin A routed to IRQ 21
Region 0 Memory at fe400000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable)
Capabilities [40] Power Management version 3
Flags PMEClk- DSI- D1- D2- AuxCurrent=0mA PME(D0-,D1-,D2-,D3hot-,D3cold-)
Status D0 NoSoftRst- PME-Enable- DSel=0 DScale=0 PME-
Kernel driver in use rt2800pci
Kernel modules rt2800pci

However, with this card
030c.0 Network controller [0280] Ralink corp. RT2800 802.11n PCI [18140601]
[b96j24quv]Subsystem DATALEX COMMUNCATIONS Device [15370067][/b96j24quv]
Control I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV+ VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx-
Status Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=slow >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR+ INTx-

Kernel driver in use rt2800pci
Kernel modules rt2800pci

when issuing "ifconfig wlan0 up" results in
phy0 -> rt2800_load_firmware Error - PBF system register not ready.

Both systems are running Ubuntu Server 12.04 with kernel 3.2.0-32-generic.
I suspect a HW issue as a google search did not reveal similar issues.

Thanks,
Peter
