Hi all,
I have a Ralink-based PCI WLAN card which I would like to use with OpenSuSE 12.2;
hwinfo --netcard gives
[code2hf5ckcm]25: PCI 400.0: 0280 Network controller
[Created at pci.319]
Unique ID: YmUS.TocnHCGQEP1
Parent ID: 6NW+.mDO_hc8hWX6

IRQ: 21 (no events)
Module Alias: "pci:v00001814d00000601sv00001814sd00002840bc02sc80i00"
Driver Info #0:
Driver Status: rt2800pci is active
Driver Activation Cmd: "modprobe rt2800pci"
Config Status: cfg=no, avail=yes, need=no, active=unknown
Attached to: #19 (PCI bridge)[/code2hf5ckcm]
problem is reported when rt2800lib tries to init the card
[code2hf5ckcm][ 11.391750] phy0 -> rt2800_init_eeprom: Error - Invalid RT chipset 0x2840 detected.
[ 11.391764] phy0 -> rt2x00lib_probe_dev: Error - Failed to allocate device.[/code2hf5ckcm]
I really wonder about this since this WLAN card is nothing new but already 2+ years old ...;
firmware seems to be latest what I found (firmware-nonfree_0.36.tar.gz; rt2860.bin dated 2011-07-26);
is there a way to get this chipset supported?

thanks, OldMan.
