Hello,

Is it possible to run rtl8187 in mode Master?

Have I to install some specific drivers (using kernel 2.6.26, specifically 2.6.26.8-57.fc8)?

Is it possible to run rtl8187 in mode Master if I upgrade the kernel to 2.6.30 (or 2.6.31, which is under development)?

Additional information
I am using the kernel 2.6.26 and by default (without installing any kind of additional drivers) the module rtl8187 is loaded.
and the execution of "lsmod | grep rt", shows
rtl8187 40129 0
mac80211 175669 1 rtl8187
eeprom_93cx6 6081 1 rtl8187
cfg80211 25417 2 rtl8187,mac80211

It works OK in mode Managed (the execution of "iwpriv wlan0 scan" has detected some different Wi-Fi). However, apart from not working on Master mode, it does not work even in "Ad-Hoc" mode; that is, after executing
1) ifconfig wlan0 down (execution OK)
2) iwconfig wlan0 essid wifiRtl8187 (execution OK)
3) iwconfig wlan0 mode Ad-Hoc (execution OK)
4) ifconfig wlan0 192.168.213.213 up; then it appears the error
SIOCSIFFLAGS Operation not supported

Finally I have checked that the execution of
iwpriv wlan0 shows "wlan0 no private ioctls"

Thanks in advance

No idea, you better go ask the rtl8187 developers, this project only supports Ralink hardware.
