Hi all,

I'm using the rt61 kernel module which came with my Ubuntu 7.10 distro. Every now and then the connection drops and the following message starts showing up in my /var/log/messages logfile

Jan 1 214521 florida kernel [ 6954.552000] Please file bug report to http//rt2x00.serialmonkey.com.

Rebooting the system restores the connection but then after a while (sometimes within 1 minute!) the same happens again. It seems to happen more often lately. Output from modinfo rt61pci

Is this a known problem? Do I need to supply more information?

All help is very much appreciated.

Happy New Year,

You are using a very old rt2x00 version, please upgrade to the latest git version.

Thank you for your reply. Funny to see a fellow Haarlemer running this project )

Can I install the rt2x00 driver or do I need the legacy rt61 driver?

You could do either, if you want to use rt2x00 you need to upgrade your kernel to 2.6.24-rc or use latest git which is an entire kernel.

rt61 legacy is easier and at the moment more likely to work correctly.
