Hey,

I spent the last 3 days trying to make my Dlink card works, in vain .. I work on an Efika powerpc card and a Dlink RT61 card. I'm on a Debian with 2.6.24.3 kernel.

The RT61 driver is the kernel one, i downloaded the firmware from ralinktech website and put it in
/lib/firmware
/lib/firmware/2.6.24.3
/lib/hotplug/firmware
/usr/lib/firmware
.....

i alsa have this dmesg when trying to ifconfig wlan0 up
[code347t55vu]phy3 -> rt2x00lib_request_firmware: Info - Loading firmware file 'rt2561.bin'.
phy3 -> rt2x00lib_request_firmware: Error - Failed to request Firmware.[/code347t55vu]
sometime it's "phy2 -> ..."

ifconfig

iwconfig

Make sure the hotplug daemon (udev) is running and is correctly configured to use firmware files.

Search this forum for other users with the same problem and their solutions.
