I'm having trouble getting my CNet CWC-854 PCMCIA card to work in Ubuntu. Right now I'm running 8.04, but I had the same problems in 7.10 and Backtrack beta3 too, so it's probably unrelated to the distro version.

The default drivers give me these dmesg messages

I've tried using ndiswrapper on the Windows drivers for this card, but this results in the PC locking up when inserting the card or booting up with the card inserted. I've also tried the latest version of the legacy rt61 drivers from [url3euqn9dx]http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com/wiki/index.php?title=Downloads[/url3euqn9dx] with the same result for the most part. There was a few times it didn't crash, and then it resulted in a message about the firmware missing - even though the firmware files were stored in the proper locations.

Anyone have experienced something similar, or got an idea how I can fix this?

Managed to recreate the previously mentioned situation - log of the debug build of the rt61 legacy driver
