I just wish to share with you the solution I found to a problem.
I had installed rt61-cvs-2008042610 on Ubuntu 8.04 and tried to configure the network through the configuration file /etc/network/interfaces. The problem was that ra0 never succeeded to initiate with those parameters, so each time the computer was started I needed to run "sudo ifdown ra0 && sudo ifup ra0". My theory was that the driver or hardware require some time to initialize before the configuration, so I added some pauses in the script. I'm sure it's possible to optimize further but this worked!
Thanks for the driver!
iface ra0 inet dhcp
pre-up sleep 60
pre-up iwconfig ra0 mode managed
pre-up iwpriv ra0 set AuthMode=WPAPSK
pre-up iwpriv ra0 set EncrypType=TKIP
pre-up iwconfig ra0 essid XXXXXXX
pre-up iwpriv ra0 set WPAPSK="YYYYYYY"
pre-up sleep 60[/code102yq0qm]
