Hello, this is my first post on the forums, so greetings all!

Ok, so I'm trying to get my Linksys WMP54G v4.3 to work on my Gentoo 2.6.24 system. I've got the drivers built into the kernel (NOT as modules, actually built in,) and everything seems peachy.

How do I load the firmware for the card? All the documents I've Googled are out of date, got 1/2 way through one for NDISWRAPPER before I realised it was dated 2003, lol.

I'm sure this is a quick fix, thanks for the help!

P.S. If it's any help I'm trying to connect to a WPA2-TKIP + AES networked locked to wireless G.

You can find the firmware on the website of Ralink http//web.ralinktech.com/ralink/Home/S ... Linux.html

I was poking around in my system and found that I have a rt2561.bin under /lib64/firmware, but it is still not reading it.

Is udev/hotplug configured to accept firmware files?

I have not configured them to so my guess is no, how do I check?
