Hello everybody.

I've done two things

1) downloaded the rt73 module form Ralink website
2) read the last FAQ from Rt2x00Wiki, wich says that I'll have no
support for that module from this forum.

Since I would like to enjoy this community, I download the driver
for my rt2573-based usb wifi-card from this portal, wich is the
file http//rt2x00.serialmonkey.com/rt73-cvs-daily.tar.gz

BUT, after extracting it, I found that the module you provide has the
same name of Ralink's it's called rt73.

So I'm confused who is the developer of the rt73 module?
You or Ralink Tech.?
Or you and Ralink wrote different modules giving them the same name?

Thankyou.

Best regards,
Giovanni Gherdovich

There are 3 different drivers
- rt73 downloaded from the Ralink website
- rt73 downloaded from our website
- rt73usb downloaded from our website

The first is developed by Ralink and released under the GPL. The second is the driver we grabbed from the Ralink website and are maintaining. This means we have added lots of bugfixes and features to the driver to make it more usable to most users. The last one is a complete rewrite of the driver and is being merged into the kernel 2.6.24.

The reason why we do not support the driver from the Ralink website is because it does not contain any patches we developed and is outdated. The most recent version of the driver is always on our website. That is part of our agreement with Ralink. They make the initial drivers and release them under the GPL, and this project maintains the drivers and delivers support for the drivers we release.
