rt73(USB) doesn't untar
Don't know for how long this is going on already, but the CVS hourly tarball rt73-CVS of last night, as well as this morning, give an error upon untarring (GNU Tar version 1.17 that comes with openSUSE 10.3 x86_64).
Until things get better I use an older hourly version I kept from a previous download (the one that expanded to directory rt73-cvs-2007121014).
Current tarballs can be extracted without problem for me. Do you still experience that issue?
Hmmmm. rt73-cvs-2008020105 is OK (apart from the fact that, also on USB, it generates the load described in another recent post).
But how about today's tarballs? The one I tried at 1445 hrs. my time (the Netherlands) gives errors again upon the untar.
1550 Dutch time No problems.
rt73-cvs-2008020503 is OK with me too.
Let me know if it helps when I report the "load issue" from a "user point of view" under the Bug reports. Although I think that the developers are aware of it. It looks like an "instability" problem to me. When the user initiates some network activity, the "random load" dies down. After that, when the network is idle from the user point of view, the "random load" starts again and gets more intense. Until the user starts some network activity again. Etc.
