Hi.

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to get this USB stick running on kernel 2.6.24 (gentoo-sources) with WPA2?
I use the kernel's rt73 driver.
I'd like to know first, if/how it should work. I tried a lot of stuff to get working, but it doesn't work.
If it should work I'll post details on what I've done.

Thank you in advance.

Read the gentoo documentation regarding network interface configuration. It will tell you to use wpa_supplicant and contains instructions on how to make sure the interface starts at boot.

There was a false entry in wpa_supplicant.conf ...
(proto=WPA)
Maybe I put this line in the config due to an old configuration description from the net.

Now everything works fine!

For me, it doesn't work.

With 2.6.23 and official driver for ralink, I see that the mode of my private connection is Managed, and I can connect all is ok.

With 2.6.24 kernel and rt2x00 driver, I see that the mode is master and I have these message
[code3pfg3upu]ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): wlan0: link is not ready
wlan0: Initial auth_alg=0
wlan0: authenticate with AP 00:18:84:81:a4:b6
wlan0: privacy configuration mismatch and mixed-cell disabled - disassociate

I can't connect, dhclient wait and wait but don't receive the IP.

What I need to do?

Hello,
We don't support Ralink's driver, so we cannot help you with it. The version of rt2x00 shipped with kernel 2.6.24 is known to be a bit buggy, so I suggest you grab our latest rt73 CVS snapshot and give it a shot.
