Hi, I've seen, that there hasn't happened much related to RutilT in the last months. Is it still developed and since rt2x00 is now in the Kernel, will there be support for it?

Is the main development repository still the one at Sourceforge or is there a git repository?
(Was just thinking, because all the drivers use git.)

Many, many questions, I know. ;-)

Anyway, keep going. ;)

Hello,
I haven't touched the code for a while, I have very little time at the moment, and I'm going to start working soon, so it may become worse unfortunately.
I said RutilT will support rt2x00, I'm not too sure now, I'm wondering if that would be worthwhile since NetworkManager is basically coming with most distributions.
I'd like to fix the issues people reported (especially a freeze with rt73), but I don't know if I'll add any feature. I must also say that I'm losing interest in RutilT...
The repository is still the sourceforge one.

Regards,
Romain

But I understand.

While I do think, that NetworkManager is great for many things it is
certainly not the best solution for everyone. I personally dislike it, because
it is always active.
Of course it is perfectly for people that do no know anything about networks
and don't want to know anything about networks.
I configure my local ethernet card with a very basic setup (it's just a dhcp
setup with a fallback address) and that works and I really don't see the
point using networkmanager for this which would sort of blow up the thing.
But finding a good gui for the wlan card isn't that easy and I hoped, that
RutilT could fit that gap when it will support rt2x00.
The best one apart from that is afaik the QT4 Gui from wpa_supplicant, but
wpa_supplicant somehow doesn't like my rt2500pci. (
But I guess that will work at some point in the future.

Ok.

Thanks anyway.
