Hi. I have such a problem. I'm not sure that it's due to the driver, but i think u can help me.
So.
I have openSuSE 10.3 with 2.6.22.13-0.3 kernel.
I have rt2500pci module (shipped with distribution). It has been updeted twice also,
I have miniPCI wifi card made by MSI (and the MSI S270 notebook ).
I get this messages on the startup:
kernel: phy0 -> rt2500pci_bbp_read: Error - BBPCSR register busy. Read failed.
kernel: phy0 -> rt2500pci_init_bbp: Notice - Waiting for BBP register.
kernel: phy0 -> rt2500pci_bbp_read: Error - BBPCSR register busy. Read failed.

kernel: phy0 -> rt2500pci_init_bbp: Notice - Waiting for BBP register.
kernel: phy0 -> rt2500pci_init_bbp: Error - BBP register access failed, aborting.
kernel: phy0 -> rt2500pci_enable_radio: Error - Register initialization failed.

Sometimes (even maybe always) i get this message also:
kernel: phy0 -> rt2500pci_validate_eeprom: EEPROM recovery - Antenna: 0x0002
kernel: phy0 -> rt2500pci_validate_eeprom: EEPROM recovery - NIC: 0xfff0
kernel: phy0 -> rt2500pci_validate_eeprom: EEPROM recovery - Calibrate offset: 0xff79

And. I've tried compiling the rt2500. I haven't had any response from card/driver.

The driver you are using is quite old, try upgrading to either the latest legacy driver or upgrade the kernel and use a later rt2x00 version.
