YOU ARE THE BEST!!!! :-)

Everything is going OK!!!

Code:
javier@javier-portatil:~$ sudo iwconfig
lo        no wireless extensions.

eth0      no wireless extensions.

wlan0     RT73 WLAN  ESSID:"MY_ESSID"
          Mode:Managed  Frequency=2.447 GHz  Access Point: XX:XX:XX:XX:XX
          Bit Rate=54 Mb/s
          RTS thr:off   Fragment thr:off
          Encryption key:MY_KEY
Link Quality=91/100  Signal level:-50 dBm  Noise level:-79 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0  Rx invalid crypt:0  Rx invalid frag:0

And now... Is it a bug from the new driver release?

Thanks!

Probably, I'll point the maintainer of rt73 to this topic, perhaps he has an idea. (I only work on the in-kernel drivers)

Hi jhcarande,

Ivo pointed me here. Call me dense, but could you summarize exactly what the problem is?

From the earlier posts, it sounds like there's a link quality reporting problem, but my own system - using the latest CVS - shows AOK in that regard once a link is established.

Thanks,

Hi.

Well. I compiled the latest driver available (1-Dec-2008), but I am NOT a reported link quality. I had used another driver, in times, provided from rt2x00.serialmonkeys.com, but I have to format the computer. And everything worked OK. So, I asked Ivo to send me a snapshot of the old driver, and then, it got me back to see the link quality.

I don't know if I've explained. If you need anything, let me know. For example, if you want to I try other driver's version.

Thanks.

Hi

What is the sequence of commands that you've done - beginning with modprobe - by the time you get around to doing "sudo iwconfig"?

Using the version of the driver you're satisfied with, could you provide the output of "ifconfig wlan0; iwconfig wlan0" to a post here?

Could you do the same with the current CVS version?

Thanks,
