History
Since Ralink released their RT2400 and RT2500 drivers under the GPL, it became apparent that to stabilize the driver for all users and configurations, more was needed then simple bugfixes. The rt2x00 is the resulting re-write. For more details see the History page.
Latest version
rt2x00 currently only lives inside the git tree, which contains a complete kernel snapshot. Because of backward compatibility issues with vanilla kernels it is not possible to deliver rt2x00 as snapshot that can be compiled against vanilla kernels.
